I just had to do a gift guide for bookworms, which, let’s be clear here, is basically my Christmas Wishlist! I don’t think there is anything better than getting a new book as a present but there are lots of things that come close, and book related things are up there!
Books, Books and more Books
I think this one is pretty self explanatory, every bookworm will have a wishlist of books. And we will love you forever if you are kind enough to treat us to one of those. I have a list of about 30 books that I really NEED right now! The top of which are Rebels of Gold by Elise Kova, Road Brothers by Mark Lawrence and The Archived by V.E Schwab.
There are loads of companies which sell book related candles. Etsy is a great place to find bookish candles. Some of my favourite places to get candles is Meraki Candles and Two Candles Thieves who are both on Etsy. The only problem I have is that they all smell too nice to burn, that doesn’t stop me collecting them though!
Bookmarks and WoodMarks
I love bookmarks, the prettier the better. And even better if they are related to the book I am reading. There are loads of shops on Etsy where you can find amazing bookmarks, these are a few of my favourite bookmarks. Woodmarks are a new thing for me and I love them, they are just so wonderful to look at, and they feel extra special. Though again like the bookmarks, I love using a woodmark that matches my current read (I can see a future where I have a bookmark for each and every book I own! – That would be living the dream!)
I love these, they are so wonderful, they take a book related tshirt to the next level don’t they, I mean the text of the book is on the tshirt, gorgeous.. I have my eye on the Alice in Wonderland one which looks amazing. There are so many amazing tshirts to choose from on the Lithographs website.
I have three book related necklaces (one to the All Soul’s Trilogy and two to the ACOTAR trilogy.) They are gorgeous and I just love them. I bought two of them for myself and the final one arrived in one of the book subscription boxes that I get each month. I love having my favourite quotes on jewelry so I can see it and it’s never fails to make me smile. Again I would head to Etsy as there are some wonderful places to get bookish jewelry like When Melissa Reads and From the Cauldron UK.
Book Themed Cups/Mugs
These tie in really well with reading, as I am often found sitting reading with a cup of tea (and it was C.S. Lewis who said “You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.”) I have several bookish cups, and I always use one of them when I am reading. My favourite has to be my Alice in Wonderland mug, which was from Whittard of Chelsea.
Book Themed Subscription Boxes
I think subscription boxes are a really cool present as it spreads the joy over the year. And there are so many book related subscription boxes to choose from depending on which type of books you like. I love YA fantasy books, so I chose a subscription to Fairyloot as a present to myself (it was one of the best presents I have ever received) and now every month I received a gorgeous themed box containing a hardcover new YA fantasy release along with lots of amazing book related goodies, like candles, bookmarks, hot chocolate, jewelry, and cups. Here are some of the gorgeous boxes I have received this year.
I am new to audio books but I am falling in love with them, and right now there is a fab deal for new Audible Members, 3 months half price subscription which makes it only £3.99 a month for the first three months, if you subscribe before the 30/11/2017. This is an awesome deal when you consider that each month you get a credit which means you can download a book which is yours to keep even if you cancel your subscription.
Do you like the sound of any of these things? Are you a bookworm? Which books are on your Christmas List this year?
