As much as I love our current house if I could change one thing about it, it would be the location, so that we could be nearer to the sea. I know that my husband feels the same, as he grew up near the sea when his family lived in Denmark. We don’t get to go to the seaside as often as i would like, as we are in the Midlands. So when we were staying at Bluestone we made sure to visit the beach at Tenby even though it was the end of November.
The day before our planned beach trip we had a smattering of snow and to be honest the weather was a bit crazy. But fortunately we were really lucky and woke up to sunshine on the Wednesday which was the day of our trip to Tenby. And so we headed off to Tenby in the morning, which is a short 20 minute drive from Bluestone. We’ve visited other beaches during our other Bluestone stays but Tenby is a favourite.
We headed through the town and stopped for some snacks (As you do!) Then we hit the beach. It was a lovely clear day and in the sun it was warm-ish. My daughter and my husband even had a bare foot paddle in the sea! We walked along the beach discovering shells, stones and seaweed. My husband even found a mermaid’s purse. My daughter picked a few shells to take with her so she could show them with her nursery class when we got back home.
As you can see from my photos, we couldn’t have asked for better weather. It was gorgeous and I am so glad we went to visit the beach during our stay in Pembrokeshire. For my it was one of the highlights of our visit, just as it was the other times we have stayed in Pembrokeshire.
On our way back to the car we headed to the Tenby bookstore which is a real gem. There were just so many gorgeous things in there and I couldn’t resist picking up a couple of books for my daughter, along with a couple of pressies too. I got a wonderful ceramic Gruffalo mug for her and a Gruffalo memory game which is lots of fun.
If you are ever in the area I would definitely recommend a trip to Tenby, it is such a gorgeous place and we have had a great time every time we have visited. You can read about our previous Tenby visits here, and our other adventures on this trip Pembrokeshire here!
I am just going to leave you with my favourite photo from the day.
Do you live near the sea? Have you ever been to Tenby?
