I often suffer with parent guilt stemming from all sorts of things. I know that it’s something that a lot of people have to deal with – it seems to be a natural part of parenting. But sometimes I feel like parent guilt is going to overwhelm me. This month it’s the start of Boo’s increased nursery hours which have set off my parent guilt. As she is now three she can have her 15 free hours of childcare.
In an increasingly man-made world I find myself being drawn to things created from natural materials. Like wooden toys for my daughter, there just seems to be something special about the way wooden toys look and feel. So when I was asked if I would like to have a look at the Jord Wood Watches website and see if anything caught my eye, I have to confess I was very happy to! Read More…
It felt like the holidays went to fast and now January is too – but what I also see is how fast Boo is growing up. Sometimes she looks so grown up I wonder where my little baby has gone! Even going out for a short walk, in the rain, I notice changes in her. I love this photo, it was taken on a walk round near where we live and Boo wanted to use her new Gruffalo Umbrella, which she got for Christmas.
And she just looks so big, holding the umbrella (which she actually used properly and not was a weapon as I feared she might). Boo’s is fiercely independent and doesn’t want help with anything. She wanted to hold the umbrella herself, and she wanted to put it up and take it down all by herself. This is another sign that she is growing up (too fast!) and I really need to make the most of all the time we have!
She really does remind me of the line from Shakespeare “Though she be but little, she is fierce!” I hope that my little Boo stays as independent, confident and curious as she is now.

I have to say that I agree with the general consensus that views 2016 as a terrible year. And terrible things did happen in 2016, both on a global level and a personal level too. But then lots of lovely things happened too. Lots of things happened in our life that made me smile, many moments where I felt so happy and my heart felt so full. I also read blog posts that made me smile too. And being that I love sharing the postive I thought I would share 5 of the blog posts that made me smile this year, and I hope they make you smile too.
It seems like this time of year is a great time to reflect back and also to look forward and plan. I do love a good list, and I have created a Family Bucket List for us for 2017. I thought I would also share my blogging goals 2017. I feel like I lost my writing mojo several times over the course of 2016 which has led me to change the way I blog, and to change the way I think about blogging too.
