Boo and I love doing crafts – making things (and making lots of mess) and it feels like this month we have been really crafty with lots of spring themed crafts – including a Mini Beast Garden and lots and lots of Butterflies.  I am always looking for new ideas and new crafts to do – Pinterest is great for inspiration, but sometimes I lack all of the things we need! So when I heard about Toucan Box I was very interested!

I love the idea that everything is in the box – and there are lots of extras too – you can check out the details of their boxes on the website – Toucan Box. There are different sized boxes to choose from, and you can add the materials in for siblings too. I love the range of boxes and the themes. I went for a Bird Box for Boo as she loves seeing birds and is always pointing out when we are out and about or when the fly into our garden!

The box arrived and the box itself is fab! As you can see Boo was very excited and couldn’t wait for me to open the box! She knew there was going to be something awesome inside! The grande bird box we received is £16.95 has the materials for two themed crafts along with a book and lots of other extras like easy to follow instructions and a sticker chart for collecting rewards.  There is also a super box available which has the materials for 4 crafts and it’s £19.95. Both the grande and the super have the options to add materials for siblings.

The boxes come once a month – though there is the petite box which has one craft in it, which is every two weeks – which I think is a great option too – though this one doesn’t have the book in it.

The activities are all developed bu educational experts and are aimed at children ages 3-8 so Boo is a little on the young side – but she had a great time with the crafts – I just had to give her that little bit more help.

The two activities we had in our box were to make a bird feeder and to make an owl mask. They were both lots of fun, but I think we both preferred the bird feeder activity as we hadn’t done anything like it before! What I loved was that everything was included in the box – there was no searching round for those little things you need to finish a project off, no running to the shops. Everything (bar the scissors) was included – that even includes glue and bird food for the bird feeder.

Opening the box – I have to say, I was excited – it all looks very nicely packed and in little exciting boxes – Boo was so excited she just wanted to open everything at once! And I am sure it will be the same for our next box! We just have to decide on which theme we are going for!

Here are some photos from our crafts! As you can see Boo was really taken with the activities and she focused for the whole time.  She loved sticking the bird feeder together and spent ages picking the colours so that it was exactly how she wanted her bird feeder to look. And after it was done and dry she headed out in to the garden to place her feeder in the trees so the birds could come and eat.

The owl mask was not only fun to make but also fun for her to play with after too – I have learnt lots about all the different noises the lesser spotted Boo owls makes!

All in all I have to say I would definitely recommend the Toucan Box to any parents for their children – and I think subscriptions to the petite box would make a perfect presents!
