This week we have been at Bluestone in Pembrokeshire, Wales. We found out we were going to be lucky enough to go and stay for 4 nights last Tuesday! An impromptu holiday! It was a lovely surprise and I was so happy when my husband could get the time off.  We had a busy weekend getting packed and headed off on the Monday to stay until Friday.

An impromtu holiday - sharing a few thoughts on our lovely holiday to Wales

I am going to be sharing a full review of our experience at Bluestone next week – so keep an eye out! But I thought today I would just share what an amazing time we had this week.  On holiday – it was in fact our first holiday as a family of three, and mine and Boo’s first time in Wales.

The weather was glorious and Bluestone itself was amazing (no spoilers – but more on that in my review!). It was just wonderful to have an unexpected week to ourselves… having lots of fun together as a family, at the beach, swimming, eating (too much) ice cream and searching for bugs. It was a week filled with lots of laughter and lots of special moments that I am going to treasure forever – a happy week which shines all the more brightly as life has been a bit difficult recently. An Impromptu Holiday - run

Boo was amazing on the long car journey, she played with her toys, read, sang, napped for a little while, ate lots and lots of biscuits (clearly I am not above a little bit of bribery) and we played lots and lots of eye spy.

Our impromptu holiday has certainly been the highlight of our year so far.. and I can honestly say that I can’t wait to visit both Bluestone and Wales again – I can’t think of a single thing I would change (well except the traffic on the way home!)

Have you ever been to Wales?
