I can’t believe we are already on week 10 of our journey in to the world of other people’s reading habits – but it’s true. This week is the tenth set of answers to my All About Books Questions! And I have something rather special for you today – not one but two sets of answers!

All About Books with Odd Socks and Lollipops - colourful books stacked on grey background
Today we have the ladies behind Two Book Thieves – Angharad and Becky. The also have the most incredible bookish candle shop – Two Candle Thieves and I bought myself so amazing candles from them, Mortal Sorrow, Welcome to Weep as well as a few of their ACOTAR themed candles! But we are here to talk books – so I will pass you over now…

Two Book Thieves is made up of two British girls, Angharad and Becky. TBT started as a place for us to review our favourite books, and then branched out to include our love of travel and a bit about our day to day lives.

Which book(s) are you currently reading?
A – How to Stop Time by Matt Haig
B – Furyborn by Claire Legrand

What was the last book you read? And what did you think of it?
A – Warcross by Marie Lu. I loved it, definitely a new favourite!
B – The Cruel Prince by Holly Black, which I really enjoyed!

What book is next on your “to be read” list?
A – I don’t have a strict TBR list but I want to read Lullaby by Leïla Slimani next.
B – Hopefully Shadowsong by S. Jae-Jones!

What is your favourite genre to read?
A – Crime Thrillers will always have a special place in my heart.
B – Definitely YA fantasy

What genre do you tend to avoid?
A – I tend to stay away from Middle Grade because I feel as though I couldn’t judge it properly.
B – I rarely read books that are straight-up romance with no other fantasy or mystery aspect to them

I know this one is a tricky one, but what is your favourite book or series of books?
A – This is pretty much impossible and my answer would change depending on which day you asked it but for now, The Book Thief would be my favourite standalone and the Six of Crows duology would be my favourite series.
B – Deathless by Catherynne M. Valente

Who is your favourite author? Or authors if you simply can’t choose one (It is a bit of a mean question)
A – Leigh Bardugo, V.E. Schwab, Agatha Christie, Holly Bourne, Matt Haig, George R.R. Martin and Angie Thomas
B – Leigh Bardugo, Laini Taylor, Katherine Arden, and there are almost definitely more that I can’t think of right now!

What is your favourite book from your childhood?
A – Pretty standard answer but Harry Potter.
B – I used to be the biggest Jacqueline Wilson fan and had a huge collection of all of her books! When I was 12 I actually entered (and won) a short story contest where the prize was meeting her.

If you have children, which books can’t you wait to read to them?
A – Obvious answer would again be the Harry Potter series but other than that, The Hate U Give for when they are slightly older.
B – I’d love for them to read all of my favourite fantasy books when they were old enough!

If you could visit the world of any book, where would you go? Who would you spend time with? And what would you do?
A – I would visit Ketterdam and hang out with the Dregs from the Six of Crows duology, maybe do a heist (haha.) I’d eat waffles with Nina, go to a wolf sanctuary with Matthias (wolves are my obsession), I’d learn to climb and throw knives with Inej, read books with Wylan, learn to shoot with Jesper and give Kaz a big hug because they are all my children.
B – This is a really difficult one to answer because the majority of my favourite books are set during actual wars or have fictional wars going on throughout them! I’d probably go to the world of Strange the Dreamer and explore the library of Zosma, and take a trip to Weep (again though, when all the fighting’s calmed down).

If you could bring any character from any book to life for a day, who would it be? And what would you do?
A – I would bring Sansa from A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones to life and tell her how important and strong and loved she is and give her as many lemon cakes as she wants.
B – Emika from Warcross. I’d get her to teach me how to be more badass and to be better at gaming, ha.

For any Harry Potter Fans, which house do you think you would be sorted in to? (This seems like a kind of random question but I am strangely curious about which house people would be in)
A – I was always a Gryffindor!
B – I’m (unsurprisingly, if you know me) a Slytherin

Thank you so much Angharad and Becky for answering my questions, lots of lovely book mentioned here, I am going to check out all the ones I haven’t read or got on my TBR yet. I would love to visit both Ketterdam and Weep, and reading this has made me want to reread both Six of Crows and Strange the Dreamer!

You can find Angharad and Becky over on their blog Two Book Thieves and I would also suggest checking out their incredible candle shop Two Candle Thieves, over on Etsy too… you can find that here (and I am in no way responsible if you become as obsesses with these candles as I am!)
