Here we are again, another happy Monday! And another All About Books Feature, where people share their reading habits and answer my questions about reading, books and which Harry Potter House they would be in. (I am a proud Ravenclaw).

I love that I have this opportunity to find out what people are reading and why, I find it so fascinating and I hope you do too. Today we have the lovely Jenny from Jenny in Neverland answering my questions!

Which book(s) are you currently reading?
I’m currently reading The Beach Wedding by Dorothy Koomson.

What was the last book you read? And what did you think of it?
Last book I finished was Six Foot Six by Kit De Waal – which is part of the Quick Reads collection this year, so it’s technically a short story. Last full length book I finished was The Last Laugh by Tracy Bloom. Thoroughly enjoyed both of them!

What book is next on your “to be read” list?
Hmmm, I have so many but probably The Binding Song by Elodie Harper – sounds flipping amazing!

What is your favourite genre to read?
Thriller / Mystery is always my go-to genre. But I also love Young Adult and just general Fiction.

What genre do you tend to avoid?
I don’t read romance – rom-com’s I enjoy on occasion but anything too sappy or romantic and I’m gagging. Not a romantic one, me!

I know this one is a tricky one, but what is your favourite book or series of books?
My all-time favourite book is The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I have a few other absolute favourites, such as The Age of Miracles by Karen-Thompson Walker, The Beach by Alex Garland, Looking For Alaska by John Green and I Am the Messenger also by Markus Zusak but The Book Thief really, really does it for me.

Who is your favourite author? Or authors if you simply can’t choose one (This one is is a bit of a mean question!)
Last year, I discovered Claire Douglas who I have absolutely fallen in love with. I’ll be first in the queue now to get her future books I think! But I also love Dorothy Koomson and John Green.

What is your favourite book from your childhood?
Oh gosh, I loved all Jacqueline Wilson books but what young girl didn’t! I also had a soft spot for the Sheltie the Shetland Pony series of books which is weird because I’ve never rode a horse or been interested in horses or ponies in my life.

If you could visit the world of any book, where would you go? Who would you spend time with? And what would you do?
This is bloody hard. Most of the books I read involve people getting murdered or strange things happening so I wouldn’t really wanna go into any of them haha! Maybe Narnia?

For any Harry Potter Fans, which house do you think you would be sorted in to? (This seems like a kind of random question but I am strangely curious about which house people would be in)
Haha I get interested in this too! Well, I’ve signed up for Pottermore twice before (because I forgot all my log-in details and had to do it again) and was sorted into Slytherin both times, without being given a choice (when my mum signed up, her final question was “chose a house: Gryffindor or Slytherin” but I wasn’t given that choice) so it would appear that I’m a Slytherin through and through. And proud!

Jenny is a blogger and you should totally check out her fab blog Jenny in Neverland. And you can catch her on social media too.

Thank you so much Jenny for taking the time to answer my questions! I adore Pottermore and I was so happy that it agreed with me and put me in Ravenclaw, though you know I am not sure what I would do if given the choice between Gryffindor and Slytherin…

The Binding Song sounds really interesting, I will have to add it to my TBR.  I hope you loved reading Jenny’s answers as much as I did. If you would like to take part in my All About Books feature then please send me an email: and I will send over the questions and information to you.
