I am so excited to be taking part in the Blog Tour for A Stain on the Soul – it’s the second in the Caitlyn Trilogy of books, and it is every bit amazing as the first book, Three Bloody Pieces. I took part in the Cover Reveal for A Stain on the Soul at the end of last month and the book is every bit as fantastic as the cover!
I have just dived right in to book three as I just couldn’t wait to find out what happens next – I am loving this trilogy so much and would definitely recommend it. There is also the chance to win signed copies of the first two books and some other cool goodies – see the Rafflecopter widget below.

Review: I loved being back with Caitlyn, she is such a wonderful main character it is a real pleasure to read books from her point of view. She is so honest and self-aware, it’s so refreshing to read about a character who admits their shortcomings. I also love that whilst Caitlyn has slowly become resigned to her position of being bound to Arlette – the balance of anger, self pity and resolve is just right.
There are a whole host of characters, some I am familiar with from my history lessons and some I am not. I love this mix of fantasy and history – it works so well. It was wonderful to see the relationship between Caitlyn and Arette’s son William, you could see that there was genuine affection there.
There were so many interesting characters in A Stain on the Soul – it’s interesting to see the kind of woman Arlette has grown in to, as well as the man that her son has become. I was happy to see that Caitlyn got to return to England and to have a little of her own happiness. She has dealt with so much over the course of these two books – a little happiness was overdue!
The plot in A Stain on the Soul – as with Three Bloody Pieces – was perfectly paced and I just could not put it down – I read the book in less than two days and then (with that cliffhanger of an ending!) jumped straight in to book three – Another Kind of Magic – I will be sharing my review of the third book on the 4th November – and the cover reveal on the 25th of October – so do please check back for those.
I don’t want to say too much about plot for fear of spoiling things, but if you like the sound of A Stain on the Soul then please check out my review of Three Bloody Pieces. If you are a fan of Fantasy or Historical Fiction then I would definitely recommend this trilogy, it is so well written with a wonderful cast of character.
