I know it’s only early November but I am getting in to the Christmas spirit already! I have been reading Christmas themed books and I have already done most of my Christmas shopping – with a December birthday it’s really helps to be organised and prevent some of the chaos Christmas can cause.
I have already share my gift ideas for 5-8 year olds and today I thought I would share some awesome STEM themed toys and books which I think would make perfect pressies.

Always a hit, and the variety of the sets and the wide price range means there is something out there for everyone. I love the Harry Potter themed sets*. My daughter has been drawn to the space themed sets like this Women of NASA* which I think would make an incredible present for any young girls, or boys with an interest in space or science in general.
There are so many incredible Playmobil sets, but I think my favourite ones have to be the Space themed sets*. I have shared my thoughts on them in the past, you can see my full review here. We have had no end of adventures, saving the world and exploring new planets.
Nat Geo Books
There are a whole range of Nat Geo books, the “First Big Book” range includes Dinosaurs*, Space* and Why* which are our favourites. We often have several pages from these books as our bedtime stories. These books are great encouraging a child’s natural curiosity.
There are a great range of colouring pencils and felt tips from BIC* – we have had lots of fun drawing the planets of our Solar System and creating new ones too. They are also great for getting
Detective Dot** – Coding
There are a number of books and toys which help introduce young children’s to coding, we love this from Detective Dot. It’s a great affordable way to get children interested in coding. And there is nothing more exciting as a child than getting your very own post!
