I have talked in the past about how hard it is to buy presents for my husband. I am not sure what it is, maybe it’s because we buy little gifts for each other for no reason at all, or because I am really naff at coming up with pressie ideas. So when GiftsOnline4U got in touch and asked if I would like to work with them for Valentine’s Day, I thought this was the perfect opportunity to find a present that was a little bit different and also personalised for my husband.
I headed over their website and wow what a choice! I spent ages on the site, checking out all of their fab gift ideas. The site is handily divided in to sections which makes the site really easy to navigate I actually found loads of different gift ideas for other people too.
I decided, in the end, to go for an Engraved Pocket Watch for my husband, I chose the Antique Style Skeleton Pocket Watch because I love being able to see the mechanism inside a clock/watch and I know my husband does too. And I thought this watch had an almost Steampunk vibe to it, and both my husband and I love Steampunk-esque things.
But now was the hard part, which quote would I get engraved on the Pocket Watch? It took me a lot of time to decide which quote would work best on the Pocket Watch. In the end, I decided on a quote from one of my favourite books, I had to go for only part of the quote as there are only so many letters you can get engraved on the back of a pocket watch, but I think even the shortened quote perfectly sums up the meaning of the full quote.
The full quote is from Rhapsodic by Laura Thalassa (if you haven’t read any of her books, you totally should!) and it is; “And the mountains may rise and fall, and the sun might wither away, and the sea may claim the land and swallow the sky. But you will always be mine. And the stars might fall from the heavens, and night might cloak the earth, but until darkness dies, I will always be yours.”
The shortened quote I decide on was “til darkness dies, I will always be yours“. I did worry about how the quote would look on the watch, but i shouldn’t have done from the moment I saw it, delicately engraved on the back of the watch, I fell in love with it, and I know my husband will too. I love that I could choose something so perfect for my husband and then personalise it. I know he is going to love it and I can’t wait for Valentine’s Day to see his face when he opens it!
The Antique Style Skeleton Pocket Watch arrived in a lovely black gift box complete with instructions on how to wind the watch and set the time. The presentation box is lovely as is the silver gift bag that was available to order when I ordered the watch.
I am really impressed with the range of gifts available on GiftsOnline4U and I already have my eye on a few other pressies for people for things coming up later in the year. I think it’s a great place to head if you are looking for Personalised Valentine’s Gifts, Birthday Pressies or Wedding gifts.
Love the sound of this Skeleton Pocket Watch? Why not pin this review for later?
I was sent the Antique Skeleton Pocket Watch free of charge for the purpose of the this review, however all thoughts and words are my own. Except, of course, for the quote in Italics which is from Rhapsodic by Laura Thalassa.
