Boo loves to talk, and to sing, and the change the words in songs… (it’s not me that’s the bad influence, I promise). She also loves listening to music and songs. Even when she was tiny she loved the theme tunes to cartoons more than the cartoons themselves.  So when I was asked if I would like to review the Kidloland app I said yes (and dreamed of those moments when I get to sit and drink a hot cup of tea in peace) because I knew that Boo would enjoy it.

KidloLand App - Nursery Rhymes and Activities for children up to age 5 - review and giveaway

The KidloLand app is filled with nursery rhymes and activities for children aged up to 5. As well as the more familiar nursery rhymes there are also lots of songs to help children learn their ABC’s and numbers and colours, animals and even vehicles too.

The songs are sung with American pronunciations which took me a little getting used too.  The subtitles have American spellings too – so that would be something to be aware of if you are looking at reading and spelling with your child.

The animations are cute and there are lots of animals driving around in rocket ships and dancing and potatoes running around and having parties.  Each of the songs has a few different scenes which change at various points during the song – this really helped to capture Boo’s interest. Boo also loves the fact that the scenes are interactive so pressing on different characters and objects makes them move – so elephants will squirt water from their trunk, for example or if you press on a car it will beep it’s horn or turn on it’s headlights. I like this level of interaction as I feel like it’s better than her just watching, she can press all different things and see what they do. Boo’s favourite section is the ABC songs – each letter has it’s own little song and there is an alphabet song too,

The app itself is free and there are some songs available for free too. The rest can be accessed either via a subscription or by paying for individual packs of songs/activities. As all songs and activities are available when you are subscribed it works out a lot better value for money to have a subscription. A year’s subscription is £29.99.

KidloLand App - Boo listening to the V song

All in all I really like the app, we have had it nearly three weeks now and we haven’t made a dent in the songs.  Boo enjoys watching it, though as it’s on my phone and she broken my last one I sadly don’t get those cups of tea in peace that I dreamed of as I am too busy watching her like a hawk to make sure she doesn’t break my precious new phone! The only thing that I would change is the American pronunciation and spelling but it’s only a little thing and I am sure Boo doesn’t mind!

The app is available for the Google Play Store, iTunes and the Amazon App Store. If you like the sound of it you can win one of five 3 month subscriptions I am giving away for the KidloLand App. Enter via Rafflecopter below.
