I love this time of year, I think Halloween crafts are my favourite, and after we made our Halloween Puppets Boo and I decided to make our very own witch to hang on the wall.   I am always on the look out for fun (and simple) Halloween Crafts for toddlers so if you have any suggestions I would love the hear them!) I love our witch – she is hung on the wall already. She’s really easy to make and Boo had so much fun decorating her witch I am thinking I might need to make a Santa when we get nearer to Christmas (am I allowed to think about Christmas yet?)

You need lots of card, mainly black and other Halloween-y colours – we went for orange skin for ours, but I think green would work just as well. And then whatever decorations you want we used, preprinted paper, foam, glitter, ribbons and cut out shapes. I cut out the body, arms, shoes and hat our of black card and the hands and face out of orange card in advance so that Boo could stick them together instead of waiting for me to cut them out.Halloween Crafts for Toddlers - Witch - You will need

We then went for decorative paper (which is from a pack for paper chains – I thought it made great socks – and we went for odd socks because all the coolest people wear odd socks! haha!) It took Boo a while to decide how she wanted her witches arms and legs to go on so we attached them towards the end after we had decorated her dress.

The witches hair was made from cutting a piece of green foam in to thin strips and gluing it on to the face before the hat went on. I also placed a hidden piece of foam under the brim on her forehead so the hat could stick to that too (it was the same level as the hair) so that the middle of the hat didn’t sink down.

I think the large googly eyes help keep our witch friendly and nice looking, I did think about making some other eyes but figured they might look a bit scary.

We decorated with ribbons, ridiculous amounts of glitter and anything else we could find that looks vaguely Halloween-y – at one point lots of the loose black glitter collected on our witches face and she looks like she needed a shave! I suppose it makes her look like an even more authentic witch!

It was a really fun and easy craft – which Boo could do a lot of herself (aside from the cutting) – It could be easily adapted – stuck to a large piece of paper/card and turned in to a stick the nose/hat/broom on the witch for a Halloween themed party.
